Educators and School Administrators are learners too!
If recent history has taught us anything, it’s that the educational landscape is changing!
Teaching students core subjects such as Math and English is important, but explicitly teaching our student population other important skills such as coping mechanisms and the ability to pivot can also hold great value-both inside and outside of the classroom.
As we begin another year of enrichment through learning, why not address as much learning as we can?
All around the world, educational institutions are hiring in-house Academic Coaches, but why? Here are some of the reasons:

Academic Coaching is a highly specialized niche in Coaching: Professionally trained Academic Coaches have training and experience that is student-focused and proven to help students set and exceed their own learning outcomes. Trained coaches do this while being mindful of all stakeholders involved in the overall wellness of their students.
Educators who receive Academic Coach training can Help by Creating a TRUE Environment of Learning and Growth. When students are challenged to think of themselves beyond the classroom, traditional teaching transforms into lifelong learning. By integrating coaching skills into the classroom, teachers become true facilitators of learning. Educators with coaching skills are equipped with the skills they need to teach the way students learn and challenge them beyond the curriculum. As a result, educators can begin to enjoy teaching again and hopefully be reminded of why they began teaching in the first place.
Academic Coaches differ from counselors, tutors and other support systems available to students: Through coaching, students have the opportunity to unlock their own potential by seeing themselves as 100% resourceful and capable and that they are the experts on their own lives. Students are empowered by given tools tailored to know themselves and where they stand in the world around them. By doing this, students become more focused and better equipped to make critical decisions. They are able to recognize their strengths and core values and act upon them. Imagine the impact of developing that kind of mindset with our younger population?
Anyone can benefit from Academic Coaching: It is important to note that coaching is NOT an intervention. A trained Academic Coach does not operate under the assumption that there is anything “broken” or that there is a “problem” in the students’ persona or that there is something that needs to be “fixed.” Qualified Coaches are skilled in addressing situations by making observations and asking powerful questions that allow students to pay attention to systems and areas in their life that they feel may need improvement. Academic Coaches are not only dedicated to the betterment of student lives, but also the overall betterment of teachers and administrators. They do so by helping fellow staff create and sustain meaningful goals and relationships.

At Coaching Kinetics, We believe that having an internal advocate that can help provide additional encouragement and direction throughout academic experience is critical to unlocking the true potential of your students and staff.
